About the Sound Sample:
IMPORTANT-- Use your EARPHONES to enjoy & experience the true sound of this singing bowl set! (Especially with laptops, tablets, mobile and cellphones as their speakers cannot accurately reproduce the richness and wide dynamic range of a singing bowl's tones.)
First you'll hear each singing bowls' fundamental tones produced by striking on their upper outside edges with the included medium Professional gong mallet. Then you'll hear each singing bowls' rim tone produced by playing around their upper outside edges with the leather side of the included large leather mallet. Then you'll hear each singing bowls' rim tone sound produced by playing around their upper outside edges with the wood side of the included large Tibetan-wool mallet. This is followed by each singing bowl played again by striking, but this time a bit faster. And lastly, the large Bass 1 singing bowl struck again.
High-wall ("Jambati") Singing Bowl:
Called Jambati in the Himalayas, the High-wall type is the largest diameter variety of the Tibetan singing bowls. They are highly prized for their deep basso profundo Om tones. Fundamental tones can range from the second to the third octave. The rim tones can reach into the fifth octave.
Singing Bowl type: "Jhumka"
An extra-thick sub-variety of classic shaped singing bowl coming out of only one small family workshop in the Himalayas and only available twice a year. These rare bowls, due to their extra thickness, tend to have extra-long sustain. And, due to the extra-thick bell-metal bronze that they are hand-forged from, they produce higher octave notes than similar size Jambati singing bowls. Their tones range from fundamental 3rd to 4th octave, with rim tones usually in the 5th octave.
DOUBLE-BLUE
Double-Blues are the "Stradivarius" of Tibetan singing bowls-- the best of the best! Of the five criteria for Legendary-quality, Double-Blues surpass the rest of the collection in multiple criteria. Their sublime tones form palpable matrices in the air, and linger significantly longer than most singing bowls. The implications of a longer sustain in a healing or meditation context is key, because of the increased "mileage" you get from every strike or rim tone. Also important is the characteristically deeper penetration potential of these powerful pieces. They are the rarest of the rare!
Package Also Includes:
- 10-piece Professional Mallet Set (Handmade of Himalayan hardwood and including matched pairs of: large leather wrapped mallets, large Tibetan-wool padded mallets, medium Pro Gong mallets, large Pro Gong mallets, and large "Fat-boy" leather mallets).
